WHAT IS AN MTO SAFETY STANDARDS INSPECTION
The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) has licensed Mr Diesel as a Motor Vehicle Inspection Station (MVIS) to can give safety standards certificates once your truck passes an inspection. The safety standards certificate confirms that your vehicle met the minimum safety standards on the date the certificate was issued.
COMMERCIAL VEHICLE INSPECTIONS
Commercial vehicles must be inspected regularly to ensure they are safe to drive. There are different types of inspections:
1. Safety standards certificate, annual, and semi-annual inspections to be completed by Mr Diesel that is licensed by the MTO.
2. Preventative maintenance inspections must be part of an operator’s maintenance plan and schedule, and can be scheduled to be done by Mr Diesel
3. Daily inspections completed by the driver or other person on behalf of the operator
