Is aftermarket worth it?+

On plenty of items, yes. On aftertreatment and safety-critical parts we usually recommend OEM or reman, and we will tell you which is which.

What if a part is on backorder?+

You get a firm date before approving anything, plus the alternative if one exists. What you will not get is a truck sitting in our yard with no answer.
